Join Austin Tan Cerca de la Frontera on Delegation to the Border

Join Austin Tan Cerca de la Frontera

on our January 18-20, 2013, trip to visit worker/activists in Ciudad Acuña, Mexico

In our 14th year of a solidarity partnership with Mexican NGO the Comité Fronterizo de Obreras/os or Border Committee of Workers, this trip will land us in the middle of the workers’ lives and their struggles for human dignity and labor rights as the biggest democratic union in Mexico goes up against the biggest corporatist union in Ciudad Acuña where previously a system of bribes banned all unions, both good and bad. We look forward to your joining us as we witness the tactics the workers will use to meet this historic moment. Adding to the pressure, the Mexican Congress has “reformed” a precious peoples’ legacy of the Revolution—the Mexican Federal Labor Law.
