Robert W. McChesney, the Gutgsell Endowed Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is one of the country’s leading scholars of mass media and critics of the failures of our corporate media system. In this lecture he will discuss his most recent book, written with John Nichols, is The Death and Life of American Journalism: The Media Revolution that Will Begin the World Again, which offers strategies for expanding the democratic potential of media in the digital age.
