Come join us for the 2011 Texas State Meeting: Shine a Light on Human Rights! As Amnesty International celebrates its 50th anniversary, we encourage all Texas activists to come together and develop new and exciting ideas to promote human rights in the state, country and world.

Key note speakers include:

• Luis Figueroa of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, on immigration

• Laura Martin, Legislative Director for State Representative Armando Walle, on current legislation to implement a Maternal Mortality Review Board

We will also offer workshops on the Women of Atenco, the death penalty, how to lobby, effective tabling and outreach methods, and provide time for participants to plan and strategize together! ALL are welcome. The conference is free and open to the public, with lunch provided (donations welcome).

Don't miss the special opening performance of The International Shaolin Wushu Center, which teaches the traditional Shaolin Kung Fu, Weapons, and Wushu of the Song Shan Shaolin Temple in Henan, China. We are honored to have them!
