Community Activist and Leader of the Blackland Development Corporation Dr.
Bo McCarver will speak about "Two Battles of Blackland: 32 Years of
Community Struggle -- and counting."  The event will cover the 12 years
the Blackland neighborhood fought UT's annexation in the 1980s and 90s.
It will also discuss be the enduring fight against gentrification in the
area.
