Lone Star Vegetarian Chili Cook-Off

For 2012, the Cook-Off will once again be BACK IN AUSTIN! We'll be at the
historic Burnet Road Farmers Market, the site of the 2008 and 2009 events,
as well as the very first event in 1989.

Every year about 500-1000 people come to taste the chilis prepared by
around twenty different teams from all over the state of Texas. These
chilis are all completely vegan, no animal products used in their
preparation whatsoever. In addition to the competing chili teams, there
are many informational and educational booths, products and services
offered by local vendors, door prizes, giveaways and guest speakers, and
live music and entertainment. There will also be a mini-farmers market and
pet adoptions.

The cook-off is open to the public. Ticket prices are:

$10 adults/teens
$7 kids ages 6-12, seniors, college students, veterans
free for kids age 5 and under

$25 Family pack tickets: One adult plus up to to three kids/teens 17 or
under, or two adults and up to two kids/teens 17 or under.

We also have advance tickets on sale at our website for $2 off (75 cent
service fee not included). Family packs are $3 off (no service fee).

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Texas Humane Legislation
Network, a grassroots, nonprofit organization that fights for the
enactment and enforcement of laws to protect animals from neglect and
abuse, acting as the voice for animals in the Texas Legislature.

If you're interested in competing as a chili cook-off team, or if you're a
vendor or organization interested in setting up a booth, please send an
email to info@veggiechilicookoff.com.
